A rich, buttery homemade caramel sauce made with just three simple ingredients. This easy caramel sauce comes together quickly and is perfect for drizzling over desserts, fruit, ice cream, cakes, and more.
Start by adding the sugar to a non-stick pan. Cook the sugar over medium low heat until a golden amber color (about 5 minutes) stirring continuously with a wooden spoon.
Add in the butter waiting until it melts before adding in the cream. Keep stirring the caramel sauce until all the sugar is melted. And the sauce is velvety smooth ( about 4-5 minutes)
Notes
Keep a close eye on the caramel as it cooks. Once the butter, brown sugar, and cream come together, stir continuously until smooth and glossy. The sauce will thicken as it cools, so don't cook it too long trying to make it thick in the pan.
