Ingredients
8 eggs
1 ½ cups flour
1 ½ cup sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
juice and zest from 1 lemon
Instructions
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees
Grease 2 eight inch cake pans
Beat eggs and sugar until light and double in volume
Add vanilla
Blend flour and baking powder together
Mix flour mixture into egg batter
Divide batter among the two cake pans
Bake for 30 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean
Cool completely
Layer with cream
Frost with with whipped cream frosting
Decorate with fresh berries and silvered almonds
